SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
PWS believes that responsible practices organically create genuine value. This belief fuels our commitment to conduct business in a conscientious manner, respecting socially embraced standards in terms of ethics, human rights, workplace practices and environmental issues. Our stance on these topics is unwavering, therefore we expect our vendor’s values and practices to align with ours.
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
“Human activities inflict harsh and often irreversible damage on the environment and on critical resources. If not checked, many of our current practices put at serious risk the future that we wish for human society and the plant and animal kingdoms.”
PWS understands that we are all in this together; one earth family making sustainable choices. Offering environmentally friendly alternatives is important to our company. Our line of EnviroSacks is one way in which we strive to demonstrate our commitment to doing our part in helping improve the health of our planet.
In addition, our current strategy is to introduce products designed to sustain repeated uses and which are made from recycled materials or renewable materials. Our goal is to provide our customers with products that will provide repeated exposure for their promotional message while also minimizing waste.
PRODUCT SAFETY
Providing safe and compliant promotional products is an essential part of our commitment to responsible practices.
PWS products are in compliance with the following US consumer safety acts:
Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA)
The purpose of this Act is to lower the amount of lead that can be in Children’s Products (Children's Products are defined as products that are intended for children 12 years of age or younger and/or products with photos of children or children related text on any types of packaging. i.e.: Hang tags). This legislation limits Lead in Surface Coating to less than 90 ppm and the amount of Lead in Substrate to less than 100ppm on all Children's Products.
Consumer Product Safety Act, Title 16 CFR Part 1303 regarding Lead
The Consumer Product Safety Commission declares that paint and similar surface-coating materials for consumer use that contain lead or lead compounds and in which the lead content (calculated as lead metal) is in excess of 0.06 percent of the weight of the total nonvolatile content of the paint or the weight of the dried paint film (which paint and similar surface-coating materials are referred to hereafter as “lead-containing paint”) are banned hazardous products.
California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act (Prop. 65)
Prop 65 went into effect in 1986 in California prohibiting the distribution of products into the State of California where that product contains one or more of approximately 750 commonly occurring substances determined by the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm unless the company that distributes the product into California places a properly worded warning on it. Only the materials and components that can come into contact with food and/or a consumer during normal use are subjected to this regulation. The information provided is believed to be accurate based on the scientific data supplied to PWS by its overseas and domestic suppliers and by periodic tests of select PWS products and product components. PWS has also selected finished products and tested by recognized third-party analytical testing laboratories in the USA for various test reports and certificates. In addition, all vendors of PWS have signed a compliant statement which indicates all of their products are in compliance to the listed US consumer safety acts.
Product safety documentation is available upon request.
